Haight-Ashbury photowalk

Haight-Ashbury photowalk: Samir Osman

Last night I went to San Francisco's classic corner of Haight and Ashbury for a love fest: a photowalk open to all lovers of photography. This event was led by Thomas Hawk, who also organized the Berkeley campus photowalk I attended in September.

I ended up taking mostly shots of the other photogs in our group. Above is Samir Osman being shot by Karen Hutton, who was doing a video of our event to send to fellow photog Lotus Carroll. And the guy on the right of the photo below, who you might not recognize with a camera in front of his face...

...is none other than Trey Ratcliff, of Stuck In Customs fame. He was in town promoting the launch of his new iPad app, and was able to join us. Trey is a truly handsome man in person; my dark night photos don't do him justice.

Also joining Trey and Thomas was Tom Anderson, everyone's first MySpace friend.

Eventually I did manage to find a subject I wanted to shoot: buskers! These guys were actually sitting behind me on my bus ride to the neighborhood, and were making a bit of a ruckus. But I'd rather hear live banjo playing on the bus than hear loud music leaking from someone's headphones, I guess.

This shot of the banjo player was actually my favorite that I took that night.

Another shot of one of our photogs visiting from out of town, Karen Hutton:

And the likely most-featured subject of the evening, model Charli Blake.

The full set of my photos from the walk are on Google+ and Flickr. Looking forward to the next one!
